It’s getting chilly and the kids are restless! Time to bundle up, plan a few fun activities, and get all the energy out. In this series, we’re going to highlight some of the best places to go in each of our location cities. Today, we start with Avon, Indiana. 1. Washington Township Park

Parents and grandparents love taking the little ones to the beautiful Washington Township Park in Avon, Indiana. From paved trails and wooded trails for walking/running to bike trails, a splash pad, an amphitheater, this park has a lot to offer all year long. A great nature spot right on your doorstep, the park is known for being clean and well maintained. In addition to beautiful trails, the park has four covered picnic facilities, a 24-foot gazebo, a beautiful outdoor chapel for weddings and a reception hall with fireplace, two playgrounds, a sand volleyball court, basketball court, horseshoe pits, an outdoor fitness station and two stocked fishing ponds.

A local reviewer says, “Washington Township Park has one of the best splash pads in the area. They also have one of the best dog parks available in Hendricks County. Apart from those great features, they also provide great trails to explore and an elaborate playground. This is absolutely one of our favorite parks!”

2. SkyZone

Sky Zone is a fun indoor trampoline park franchise with a location in nearby Plainfield, Indiana. The inventors of “fun fitness” and the makers of trampolines as far as the eye can see, Sky Zone is a great workout for adults and kids alike. Experience the weightlessness of bouncing, flipping and landing in a pit filled with 10,000 foam cubes. Sky Zone Plainfield was completed in 2012 and offers open jump, a SkySlam court, Virtual Dodgeball, SkyRobics fitness classes, Ultimate Dodgeball (when available) and a three-lane Foam Zone. A reviewer offers helpful tips: “Although a little hard to find, located in an industrial park, the place was clean and well organized. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Check-in was a breeze. We had made reservations online, but you can also do everything upon arrival. Weekends are usually the busiest. All in all, it was a fun two-hour experience for my granddaughter and four of her 10 to 11-year-old friends. The snack bar had a good variety of snack items and they will order pizza to be delivered. Great for all ages!”

3. Monster Mini Golf

Monster Mini Golf is a fun and unique experience for kids of all ages! Plan a birthday party in the Haunted Mansion, or a fun family night out at the location in Avon, Indiana this winter when the kiddos need to get some energy out. You’ll find a state-of-the-art, indoor, climate-controlled facility completely under the luminescent glow of black lights. The location has its own unique “living art” and monster-themed décor featuring fun-loving, animated monsters.

4. Hot Skates

Hot Skates is a small, family-friendly roller skating and family entertainment center in Avon, Indiana.

Family Owned and Operated, the rink offers weekly skating sessions and other regularly scheduled programs. They have a fully stocked pro shop for all your skating needs as well as great food, drinks, and snack items in the snack bar. 5. Tie Dye Lab

The Tie Dye Lab is a one of a kind place where you and your child can embrace your inner artist.
